Benchmarking
The overall aim of the Benchmarking programme is to improve the business management and decision making process on farms.
CAFRE first introduced benchmarking to the agri-food sector in the year 2000/2001. The first experience was with dairying and, in the following year, pigs, beef and sheep were added.
Establishing clear physical and financial criteria common to each farm within a sector allows owners and CAFRE Development Advisors to assess individual performance.
Analysis of the data should inform target setting, budget development leading to improved profitability and overall business competence.
